Allied Gardens is a close nit community in the heart of San Diego, just a short 20 minutes to the beach. It was founded in 1955 when the land was purchased by local developers, known as the Allied Contractors from the Waring estate. This is a community that children who grew up here are moving back to raise their families.
Families with wagons filled with chairs and blankets, can be seen walking to the park on Summer events to enjoy concerts and movies sponsored by local businesses. Members of all ages will be found enjoying classes such as cooking and ballet, and sports like basketball and volleyball. The community pool offers lessons along with free swim time.
Just a short distance from the Allied Gardens Rec Center is Lewis Middle School and the Public Library. The local schools include, Marvin and Foster Elementary, Lewis Middle School and Patrick Henry High School, all of which are highly rated. Patrick Henry High School was awarded US News Best High Schools designation.
