One of the ways we live that out is through our ongoing quarterly volunteer events with Feeding San Diego. These volunteer days give our team, clients, friends, and family an opportunity to come together, serve side by side, and support local San Diegans experiencing hunger.
Supporting Feeding San Diego’s Mission
Feeding San Diego’s mission is to end hunger through food rescue. Volunteer support plays a critical role in making that mission possible, helping ensure that rescued and donated food can be sorted, packed, and distributed through programs that serve families, children, and individuals throughout our community.
This quarter, our group helped glean and pack 3,288 pounds of apples for various Feeding San Diego programs, including the School Pantry Program, which helps serve local San Diegans experiencing hunger.
Every Volunteer Day Is a Little Different
One of the things we love about volunteering with Feeding San Diego is that every shift brings something new. Over time, our group has helped with a variety of projects, including gleaning fruit, assembling food packs for local school kids, and labeling mislabeled products so they could be properly distributed.
It is always an adventure, and this week was no different. We were grateful to work with a batch of apples that were in pretty good shape, sorting and packing them so they could be used in programs that support families across San Diego.
Community Is Built Through Connection
These quarterly volunteer days are special because they bring together more than just our real estate team. We are joined by clients, friends, family members, and people who simply want to be part of something positive in the community.
It gives us a chance to connect outside of real estate, laugh together, work hard, and serve a greater purpose. Whether we are sorting apples, packing food, or helping organize donated items, the goal is always the same: to support local families and help strengthen the community we all call home.
Our Annual Food Drive
In addition to our quarterly volunteer days, Legacy Realty Network also hosts an annual food drive for Feeding San Diego during our Thanksgiving Pie Giveaway. Each year, we invite our clients and community to help us collect canned food items and donations to support local families during the holiday season.
It has become one of our favorite traditions because it combines gratitude, community, and giving back at a time of year when many families need extra support.
