Every year, Keller Williams offices across the country pause normal business for RED Day, a day dedicated to giving back to the communities we live in and serve.
RED Day stands for Renew, Energize, and Donate, and it is one of the things we love about being part of Keller Williams. It is a reminder that real estate is not only about homes, contracts, and closings. It is about people, neighborhoods, families, and the places that help shape daily life.
This year, our Legacy Realty Network team had the opportunity to serve in two different communities: San Diego and Boise.
Giving Back Here in San Diego

Jen and Joe volunteered with the Keller Williams La Mesa office at a local San Diego elementary school, helping revitalize an outdoor garden space for the students and staff.
The project included a lot of hands-on work:
- Repairing chicken wire in the greenhouse
- Rebuilding the wood border around a butterfly garden
- Raking leaves and clearing debris
- Removing an old wood pile
- Pulling weeds
- Adding fresh soil to planter beds
- Planting butterfly plants, flowers, and herbs
- Painting planter beds, tree stumps, and picnic benches to make the space more fun for the kids

It was the kind of project where a lot of small tasks came together to create something meaningful.
The school’s principal and staff reached out afterwards to express their gratitude, and it was clear how much heart went into the day from everyone involved.
For us, that is the best part.
A garden may seem simple, but for kids, it can become a place to learn, explore, slow down, and enjoy being outside. Sometimes giving back looks like pulling weeds, painting benches, and helping create a space where children can feel cared for.
Serving Families in Boise

Jason, Stephanie, and their family volunteered with the Keller Williams Boise office at Interfaith Sanctuary, a shelter that supports families and individuals experiencing homelessness.
This project focused on revitalizing the playground area for the children living at the shelter, which included more than 30 kids.
The goal was to help create a brighter, safer, and more playful outdoor space for them.
Some of the work included:
- Painting tires to look like a bumblebee and ladybugs
- Building and painting a balance beam walk
- Painting decorative rocks
- Helping lay pavers for a walking path
- Cleaning up and refreshing the playground area

This project was especially meaningful because of who it was for.
Children staying in a shelter are often carrying more than most of us realize. Creating a fun, welcoming place for them to play may not solve every challenge their families are facing, but it can give them a little bit of normalcy, joy, and room to just be kids.
That matters.

Why RED Day Matters to Us
As a real estate team, we spend a lot of time talking about homes.
Buying homes.
Selling homes.
Moving homes.
Investing in homes.
But RED Day is a reminder that home is more than a property. It is also community. It is safety. It is connection. It is the people around us choosing to show up and care.

Whether it was refreshing a school garden in San Diego or helping improve a playground at a homeless shelter in Boise, we were grateful for the chance to serve alongside other Keller Williams agents and community volunteers.
These projects may not make big headlines, but they make a difference to the people who use those spaces every day.
A Thank You to Everyone Involved

Thank you to the Keller Williams La Mesa office, the Keller Williams Boise office, Interfaith Sanctuary, the local school staff, and all the volunteers who gave their time, energy, and effort to make RED Day 2026 happen.
We are grateful to be part of a company that encourages service and a team that believes giving back should be part of how we do business.
At Legacy Realty Network, we are proud to serve our clients in real estate, but we are also proud to show up in the communities that mean so much to us.
Because at the end of the day, community is what makes a house feel like home.
